National
Strategic Goals Program
The Strategic
Goals Program (SGP) is a cooperative effort between the EPA
and the American
Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society (AESF),
the National
Association of Metal Finishers (NAMF),
and the Metal
Finishing Suppliers Association (MFSA)
to "test
new ideas" that are both bold and "common sense" in
nature for improved environmental protection by the metal fininshing
industry. The SGP was created by key industry leaders and other
important stakeholder groups for "cleaner, cheaper and smarter" environmental
performance by metal finishing companies in the United States.
National
Metal Finishing Resource Center
CAI
Engineering is the contractor for a three-year project that
has established the National
Metal Finishing Resource Center (1995
to 1998).
The prime contractor is the National
Center for Manufacturing Sciences.
Project partners include the National Center for Manufacturing
Sciences (NCMS), the National Association of Metal Finishers
(NAMF), the American
Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society (AESF),
the Metal Finishers Suppliers Association, and the Pollution
Prevention Roundtable. The project is funded by the Department
of Commerce , National
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST),
the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
and industry sources. The function of the National Metal Finishing
Resource Center is to provide easy access to relevant, current,
reliable, and comprehensive information on pollution prevention
opportunities, regulatory compliance, and technologies and
techniques for reducing pollution in the most competitive manner
for the metal finishing industry. By providing needed information,
the Center will enhance the ability of small businesses to
implement risk-based pollution prevention alternatives. The
information system is Internet-based.
Printed
Wiring Board Resource Center
Established
by the National
Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) in
partnership with the Institute
for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC),
and is made possible by funding from the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The
main function of the PWBRC is to provide regulatory compliance
and pollution prevention information to individual printed wiring
board (PWB) manufacturers, industry vendors and suppliers, federal,
state and local agencies, academia, and other interested parties.
Paint & Coatings
Resource Center
